The Request

The Corporate Investment Banking (CIB) team of NBG, a young but highly successful team, aimed to host its first-ever event—an occasion to reflect on the past, celebrate the present, and set goals for the future. The objective was to inspire, empower, and celebrate the 456 team members who delivered exceptional results for the Bank, establishing it as a key market player in just five years.

The Creative Idea

The NBG CIB team epitomized the concept of “DREAM BIG.” This was the story we wanted to tell during the event: the journey of the CIB team’s Dream Big success and the invaluable contribution of each team member who worked at the highest level to make it happen. The perfect setting to draw parallels was Greek basketball, with its legendary personalities and stories that resonate deeply with the Dream Big spirit.

Execution

  • Inspired by the Greek basketball legends who personify 100% the Dream Big idea, figures such as Panagiotis Giannakis, Theo Papaloukas, and Nikos Zisis were invited to share their own Dream Big stories. The event featured a celebrated sports presenter as the host, bridging the connection between the Bank and the players.

  • The event began with a dynamic on-stage performance where the host narrated live in sync with a giant screen, displaying videos that dramatized his words for a powerful effect. And where else could this all take place but in a basketball arena?

  • This live event—a spectacular show in a closed basketball stadium—brought together two Dream Big teams. The agenda balanced presentations, videos, panel discussions, speeches, and awards with a seamless flow, keeping the audience engaged, entertained, and inspired.

  • With iconic personalities, creative interludes, and unexpected surprises, the energy remained high throughout. The attendees—NBG CIB team members—left the event feeling accomplished, motivated, and ready to aim for even higher goals.

Results

  • The event successfully positioned NBG as a leader in corporate and investment banking, reinforcing its connection to its team and its vision for the future.

Conclusion

The first Corporate and Investment Banking event by NBG brought the Dream Big concept to life in the most impactful and engaging way. Drawing parallels between the CIB team and Greece’s legendary 2006 National Basketball Team, basketball icons shared the stage and screen with NBG’s stars. 

Through a spectacular scenography, dynamic transitions, compelling videos, powerful music, and a warm human-centered approach, the 456 attendees celebrated their team’s success, enjoyed themselves, and left inspired and united.
